Curated Sparks
Each spark is an invitation, not an announcement.
The salon posts one spark at a time. Members answer from wherever they stand — a surgeon, a set designer, a translator — and the thread becomes the artwork.

Does access to information mean access to understanding?
Original artwork created for the salon, October 2026
A library on wheels. A community gathered around books. A simple scene carrying a powerful message. Books can open doors, challenge inherited beliefs, and give people the freedom to imagine a different future. But access to knowledge has never been equally shared. Think beyond books: who decides what we learn? How does knowledge shape our identity? And can education become a form of freedom? There is no single right answer. We invite you to look, question, and share your perspective — art opens the conversation, and your voice gives it meaning.

On infinite shelves
Jorge Luis Borges, The Library of Babel
"When it was proclaimed that the Library contained all books, the first impression was one of extravagant happiness. All men felt themselves the possessors of an intact and secret treasure." — and then, of course, came the despair.

Wander within
The farthest journeys happen without leaving your chair.
Choosing a spark can be a way of travelling — not outward, but inward, or deep into someone else's world. Wander into the world of an author and see how your own thoughts look from inside their house; sit with a question long enough and you meet a version of yourself you had not been introduced to. Some people cross the planet to find who they are. Here, a painting can be a port of call, a question a mountain pass, and the self you discover on the way home is the souvenir. Pick the spark that pulls at you the way an unfamiliar city name sometimes does — and let the reading be the travelling.
The shape of an answer
An experiment, and the sentiment it left behind.
A good response here is not an essay — it is a small report from an experiment. Name the city you were in when it happened: Istanbul, Lisbon, a train between two places. Then name what you actually did — the page you re-read, the painting you stood in front of, the question you carried into an ordinary afternoon. Then what it left in you — the sentiment, however unfinished: a restlessness, a softening, an argument you lost to a sentence. One honest paragraph in your own language is enough; the thread will do the rest. You do not need to reach a conclusion. Reaching us is the conclusion.
